Something a little bit different……
It was a pleasure to be invited by Sally and Andrew from Baxter Supplies Ltd, to spend the morning at their childrens' school to support road safety, along with Megan and Clare from Keystone Compliance Ltd.
One of the lovely little girls in Year 6 initiated the campaign earlier this year and reached out using her own initiative to Bolton council for support in making the area around school safer.
Baxter Supplies took on of their grab wagons to the school to demonstrate to the children the dangers around HGVs and give them an insight into what drivers can see from the wagons to encourage them to keep a safe distance and showing them the blind spots. It is important to raise awareness to pedestrians and other vulnerable road users, particularly children. The children all had a sit in the wagon and hopefully learnt how to stay safe.
It was very much appreciated and the feedback from the school and parents has been fantastic. The children have passed on their learning to their parents too which is what Sally and Andrew aimed for.
Given we have junior directors at Hurst Transport Services Ltd we understand the importance in giving young people the knowledge and understanding to ensure they keep themselves and their friends and family safe. Thank you to Andrew and Sally at Baxters Supplies Ltd for the invitation.
